Speed Runners
Co-op Friendly
The game offers online and local play, it is quick and simple to get started. Just invite and select characters and then pick a map.
Fun
The sabotage of dragging an opponent or dropping a box, feels so rewarding while swinging across the map. With mod support there are so many maps to pick from some of which turn the game into an almost into a brawl style instead of race.
Difficulty
You will be required to time good grapples and dodge, but ultimately the difficulty comes down to how good your opponents are, the better they are the more you have to do and be aware of you. Watch for their play style and moves they like to do.
Engaging
The fighting/racing is fun and fast paced, trying to over take you opponents and maintain good speed while planning when to grapple.
Family Friendly
The game has no gore and is cartoon graphics, its just fun racing, and players just spin if they hit spikes.
Casual
The controls are easy to pick and go, it might take a second to get back into your rhythm but with limited controls it should be quick.
What we liked
The casual competitiveness makes this game so enjoyable. There are minute mechanics to make your character that much smoother and that much faster. The default maps are great and the steam workshop maps allow for great variety and different game mods.
What we would change
Speed runners seems to be in a great state but there is room for improvement. Once you get used to the game and playing against opponents it becomes quite easy. To add more variables, there should be more items and maybe even character abilities to add more competitiveness to the game.
What made it unique
Although nothing made this game unique. The combos with grappling and movement felt very smooth compared to other games. Still one of the best games to play against friends because it feels like anyone can take that number 1 spot.
